Al Bireh, Palestine, 13 November 2014: Ooredoo Palestine Mobile Telecommunications Public Shareholding Company (“Ooredoo”, Ticker: “WATANIYA” at the Palestine Exchange) announced today the resignation of Mr. Fayez Husseini from the CEO post and the appointment of Dr. Durgham Maraee as the new CEO.
Dr. Durgham Maraee has extensive experience in business management, investment and private equity. Prior to his appointment to the position of CEO of Ooredoo Palestine, Dr. Maraee served as the Chief Investment Officer of the Palestine Investment Fund (“PIF”), Palestine’s largest institutional investor with more than $800 million of assets under management. Earlier in his career, he worked as a consultant at the Boston Consulting Group. Dr. Maraee holds a Doctorate degree in International Law from Harvard University.
Previously, Dr. Maraee served as a member of Ooredoo Palestine's Board of Directors. Upon his appointment as the Company's new CEO, Dr. Maraee resigned from the Board membership.
